South View JV Story

Tigers Win Warrior Classic

Back on January 15th, South View's Junior Varsity traveled to West
Montgomery High School for the Warrior Classic of 2000. Out of the 10 teams
in the tournament, South View was the only school from the Fayetteville area.
As most of the other schools warmed up and got stretched out, the Tigers just
laid around, played a little bit and had a late breakfast. To the other teams
there, it was considered goofing off, but to the Tigers, they were just
getting comfortable in the school and relaxing before the matches. All of the
fun and games came to a stop when their 152 was injured in a match and had to
be taken to the hospital due to shock and a fractured shoulder. This incident
acted as motivation to the other wrestlers from South View and helped them to
go on and take home multiple awards. As the team planned on going to the
hospital after the awards ceremony, the injured 152 showed up at the school
with nothing more than his arm in a sling. He also went up to receive the
trophy for the championship team. Among other awards were:
      Gold medals:
               Shawn Wike-119
               Robert Marriot- 125
               Chad Cambell- 135
               Nick Martinez- 140
      Silver medals:
               Brian Mclean- 125
               Robert Hanson- 135
               Jeff Reyes- 140
               Chris Wilkins- 170
               Johnathon Parnell- 215
       Bronze medals:
                Robert Daniels- 189

CONGRATULATIONS TIGERS!!
